Making a Solar Panel at Home

in Solar-panel

Making a solar panel could be one of the most important projects you have ever done! And this article is about to prove just that. Not only will you get your electricity bills in order, but you will also have a great time doing this proving to yourself that you can do just about anything if you put your mind to it.

First, let me tell you something very, very important: solar panels are not as expensive as the main stream media would like you to think. Ready-made ones are, but if you decide to DIY (do-it-yourself), then it is a whole different story. Let me illustrate:

  • ready-made solar panels: $2.000 - $3.500
  • DIY solar panels: less than $200

You can save a LOT of money by making a solar panel by yourself instead of purchasing a ready-made one. And, you do not need any special skills to go about doing this!

Don't be nervous if you have never done anything DIY. Here's a little tip to make the whole process easier and to make you feel comfortable about doing it yourself.

Build a small solar panel first.

You can power some small appliance in your home with it, like TV, computer or a fridge and see for yourself the beauty of the whole concept called making a solar panel by yourself and cutting down the electricity bills! It can't get better than that.

After your first DIY solar panel you can build another one and then another one, until you decide to take on the big one - roof panel - and get yourself off the grid once and for all. Do you know that by making a roof solar panel you can reduce your monthly electric bill by 60%-80% -- and that's permanently!

So, making a solar panel at your home can be really a great project for you to accomplish.

  • It will eventually get you off the grid,
  • It will make you handy with DIY projects which in turn can save you infinite amounts of money in the future,
  • It will prove you that you can do anything if you put your mind to it,
  • And the last but not the least, you will do your bit in preserving the Earth's good health.

The most important thing to have when making a solar panel is the tools of course. But, not the ones you can get at any local hardware store or from you garage. The tools I am talking about are written words - you will need a good quality guidebook! Everything else can indeed be found at your local hardware store or in your garage.
